- Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and nurse practitioners.
- Monitor patient health and vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by nurse practitioners and physicians.
- Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical histories.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
- Collaborate with the nursing team, including nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding care plans.
- Provide resident education on health conditions, medications, and self-care.
- Perform wound care and dressing changes.
- Administer medications orally, topically, intramuscularly, and subcutaneously.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment used in the nursing home.
- Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
- Assist in emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care.
- Help residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and dressing.
- Adhere to nursing standards and regulatory requirements in the nursing home.
- Maintain resident confidentiality.
- Stay current with nursing practices through continuing education.
