Responsibilities:
  • Provide basic nursing care under the supervision of registered nurses and nurse practitioners.
  • Monitor patient health and vital signs, reporting changes to the nursing team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by nurse practitioners and physicians.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including vital signs and medical histories.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team, including nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families regarding care plans.
  • Provide resident education on health conditions, medications, and self-care.
  • Perform wound care and dressing changes.
  • Administer medications orally, topically, intramuscularly, and subcutaneously.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment used in the nursing home.
  • Follow infection control protocols to prevent the spread of diseases.
  • Assist in emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident care.
  • Help residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing and dressing.
  • Adhere to nursing standards and regulatory requirements in the nursing home.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality.
  • Stay current with nursing practices through continuing education.
