Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor at Black Prong is a high-energy and self-motivated individual who plays a critical role in managing and maintaining our resort's facilities. The position oversees repairs and maintenance across our 90-acre property, which includes barns, paddocks, RV pads, cottages, pavilion, pool, restaurant, fitness center and other amenities. This position requires general knowledge of the trades, supervisory experience, a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and grow, excellent time management, and the ability to meet deadlines.
This is a full-time position offering benefits, with a work schedule comprising 10 days on (Monday – Wednesday), followed by 4 days off (Thursday – Sunday). Benefits include health, dental, disability, life and vision insurance, paid time off and 401(k) with employer match.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management: Document and complete maintenance and repair tickets using a work order management system. Responsible for the physical operations of the property, including buildings, pool and spa, equipment, and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, etc.). Ensure timely response to urgent and emergency issues.
- Professional Growth: Willing to keep learning and improving skills through classes and training.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and direct the maintenance team, fostering professional growth, and maintaining positive employee relations.
- Project and Energy Management: Implement and manage new construction initiatives, including energy conservation programs and other special projects. Plan and execute facility repairs and upgrades.
- Building Maintenance and Safety: Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot problems, and coordinate with external vendors for repairs. Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Event Support: Work with the banquet team to assist in event setup and tear down, including managing, storing, inventorying and repairing banquet furniture and equipment.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain key inventory and detailed maintenance records. Manage work schedules and work orders.
- Previous experience in a similar position, preferably in a nature resort, equestrian center, or luxury hospitality setting.
- Effective delegation and motivational skills.
- Broad understanding of different building trades and facility management systems.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with a focus on troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Excellent communication, organizational, team-building and interpersonal skills.
