Position Description:   Pediatrician


Department:                 Health Center              

Compensation:            $240,000 - $327,000 annual FTE based on productivity ( full time  salary will be prorated to agree hours)

                                    Reimbursement for Medical license fee DEA license fee, hospital privileges, Patterson business license, professional membership, Stanislaus & CA Medical Society membership, CME expenses ($2,000/yr), retirement (3%), fixed rate for Health Insurance. (based on full-time – pro rated for part-time)

Job Summary: The successful candidate will be a California licensed, board-certified Pediatrician who has experience working with children of all ages and various medical conditions. Our clinic is a Rural Health Clinic (RHC), and as such, we need a flexible, knowledgeable, and compassionate physician who is seasoned in the care and well-being of children in our community. The successful candidate will accept patient referrals, provide primary medical care, consult with specialists, respond to pediatric emergencies, work with community leaders to educate the community on issues related to children’s health and work collaboratively with the medical staff. Our community is composed of a large agricultural base and industrial distribution centers. We have a large Spanish speaking population. We are looking for someone oriented to serving the underserved.   This is an excellent opportunity to work within a warm, caring atmosphere where the health of our children is top priority.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs medical examinations and evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, consultation, and health education.
  • Obtains patient histories and develop patient care charts, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Provide health education to students, families and/or community health practitioners and groups, within area of specialty.
  • Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff.
  • Administer a specific health care activity as appropriate.
  • May participate in planning programs and/or infection control methods.
  • Maintains Electronic Health records for all patients in a timely manner.
  • Maintains current credentials and completes administrative requests.

 



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Indirectly supervises Mid-Level Providers and Medical Assistants.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

  • MD or DO degree
  • 2+ years’ experience in pediatric medicine
  • Licensed in the State of California
  • Board certified through the Board of Pediatrics (or in process)
  • BLS, PALS
  • Experience with EHR (electronic health records) required

 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents operating and/or maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively with customers and all members of the health care team.
  • Preferred bilingual in the English and Spanish languages both written and oral.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and strategy skills.
  • Ability to collaborate, motivate and support teammates.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines as required.

 

REASONING ABILITY:

 

  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

 

  • Handle confidential and protected health information (PHI) thorough understanding of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure according to the general standards set forth by HIPAA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patient population and co-workers in a professional manner with a high degree of diplomacy and tact.
  • Working with ethnically diverse populations in a culturally sensitive manner.
