The Sales Engineer II – Bearings & Composites plays a key role in driving spec-in activities and driving the success of customer projects within the realm of self-lubricating bearings and composite materials. As a Sales Engineer II, you will spearhead the establishment of a robust network of prospective contracts within your designated strategic area. Leveraging various tools such as our CRM, LinkedIn, and proactive outreach, you will drive the initiation of new projects with key customers and partners, targeting decision-making entities like design centers and headquarters rather than solely focusing on plant locations.


Sales Engineer II - Job Responsibilities:


• Drawing upon your technical knowledge, you will address technical challenges and champion innovative solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our customers with the goal of increasing the number of new customers (new logos) year over year.

• Bridging the gap between customer needs and product capabilities, you will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to ensure the timely initiation and completion of product developments aligned with customer design and validation. Your success is measured by our ability to double our business by 2028.

• Upon establishing initial projects and sales, you’ll facilitate the seamless transition of responsibilities to our internal sales team. Throughout this transition, you will continue to provide guidance and support as needed to the customer, ensuring a smooth handover of projects and relationships. Your success is measured by the number of new accounts (new logos) retention rates of three or more years.

• Tracking emerging markets and trends to help guide new business ideation. Your success is measured by data metrics captured in Salesforce CRM and participation in the rolling twelve-month annual operating plan forecasting process.

• Fostering and working to maintain an entrepreneurial growth culture throughout the company and across all teams and work functions. Your success is measured by the annual performance management process with a minimum of meets expectations in the key behavioral competencies.

• Helping to shape the company’s long-term objectives and determining plans for how to meet them. Your success is measured in the active participation in cross functional collaboration meetings and strategy discussions.

• Traveling to customer locations to provide consultative selling and technical support, participation in industry tradeshows, and brand building events. Travel by air and/or auto are expected up to 60% of the time.


Sales Engineer II - Qualifications/Skills:


• Ability to meet or exceed growth objectives and adapt to changing market conditions.

• Strategic planning skills

• Technical aptitude and industry knowledge of composite bearings with commercial experience preferred.

• Financial and business acumen

• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

• Ability to communicate accessibly and concisely about product or service to outsiders, including prospective customers and clients, partners, vendors, and press.

• Negotiation skills.

• Research and analytical skills.

• Interpersonal and customer-service skills.

• Enthusiasm and sincerity.


Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:


• Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in an engineering field

• 5+ years’ technical sales, business development or engineering experience; bearing experience preferred

• Must possess a current, valid driver's license and passport

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, expected travel up to 60% of time
