Machinist-Eljen

Job Summary
We are looking for a Machinist to join our Eljen team in Sweetwater, Texas! The Machinist will operate machine tools to fabricate and manufacture machine parts and other components as required for our customers.
Duties / Responsibilities

• Operate fabrication machinery to produce parts used in manufacturing processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints and design sketches to ensure proper dimensions and specifications for parts.
• Selects the appropriate cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and material to be used on machines.
• Examine and measure completed units and parts to identify any defects and to ensure units conform with predetermined specifications; adjusts machine controls to resolve production errors.
• Inspects machinery for any needed repairs; perform minor repairs within expertise.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work area.
• Comply with company and industry safety standards and regulations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities

• Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.
• Ability to read blueprints, plans and designs.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Excellent mechanical skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Organizational skills and attention to detail a must.

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Vocational / technical school training or apprenticeship preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
