Job Description
NOW HIRING: Millerbernd Manufacturing is continuing to grow and expand our workforce here in Winsted, MN. We are adding an Automation Technician/CNC Machinist 3 to our Ring & Cylinder team on either 2nd or Weekend shift. In this role, you will be responsible for set ups, operating and monitoring CNC Vertical Turning Centers, Vertical and Horizontal Milling Centers and manual machining centers in the manufacture and production of various products in accordance with product specifications.

As an Automation Technician/Machinist 3, you will:

  • Sets up and operates automated cells and verifies accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data
  • Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required
  • Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems
  • Expresses logic in the determination of method / sequence of operations and selection of materials
  • Independently trouble shoot, identify and resolve issues
  • Determine root cause and report correction
  • Understand, interpret and edit basic to intermediate programming code
  • Requires limited to no technical guidance
  • Monitor the production board and internal paperwork from supervisor to perform tasks in the designated sequence
  • Enter job data in production tracking system

Role Qualifications as a for a Automation Technician/Machinist 3:

  • 6+ years machining on both lathes and mills
  • Proficient knowledge in interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
  • Proficiency in performing operations using CNC equipment
  • Accurately use tape measure and precision measuring devices
  • Ability to perform basic shop math functions
  • Ability to maintain crane and forklift certifications
  • Ability to solve practical problems and make decisions within a set of guidelines
  • Ability to read and understand required internal manufacturing paperwork
  • Ability to electronically record production information
  • Effective and appropriate oral and written communication skills, including legible handwriting in English

Salary disclaimer:
The actual base salary for this role is based on various factors, including but not limited to market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The range provided is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified.

Other details:

  • 2nd shift is Monday - Thursday 2pm - 12am or Monday - Thursday 3pm - 1am includes $1.50/hour shift differential
    • 10-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks
  • Weekend shift is Friday - Sunday 5am - 5pm includes $2.50/hour shift differential
    • 12-hour shifts (per day) including paid breaks
  • Voluntary Overtime is available
