Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on all pieces of production equipment including CNC machining

centers, mills, lathes, drill presses, portable electric and pneumatic tools, and air compressors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy

• Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions

• Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees

• Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on all production equipment using all resources available to minimize equipment downtime

• Assist Maintenance Supervisor in establishing and modifying preventative maintenance tasks

• Confer daily or when necessary on the status of any improper equipment

• Assist others in the Maintenance department as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experienced working as a maintenance technician or equivalent

• Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards

• High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus

• Well organized and self-directed

• Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in CNC maintenance with completion of appropriate machine specific maintenance courses

• Demonstrated ability to understand electrical and mechanical equipment drawings and apply that to the equipment troubleshooting and repair

• Thorough understanding of CNC operation and programming as if affects maintenance

• Minimum of 1 year experience preferred in related field

• High school graduate or equivalent

• Use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls

• Talk and hear

• Walk, stoop, crouch and bend

• Reach above shoulders

• Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance

• Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception

• Must comply with safety equipment standards; safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed shoes

TRAVEL:

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected
