Purchasing Coordinator 24-00017

Onsite Gainesville, TX M-F

20.00-22.00 per hour w2

9–12-month contract possibility of extension, right to hire

No corp to corp or 3rd party agencies

We are looking for a Purchasing Coordinator to join our team of professionals! The Purchasing Coordinator who will be responsible for supporting Plant initiatives with respect to Purchasing. This position assists in the procurement of materials and services on behalf of Plant departments, administers transactions, maintains files and coordinates with Suppliers to achieve the most optimal cost, delivery, and service.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Process requisitions, obtain quotes, and convert requisitions into purchase orders.
  • Submit purchase orders to suppliers and obtain order confirmation.
  • Manage new and approved contractors; communicate requirements and maintain files.
  • Identify cost saving opportunities using competitive bidding, negotiations, and service improvements.
  • Expedite materials and services to meet Plant requirements.
  • Work with Corporate Purchasing to transact long-term contracts and rentals over 12 months.
  • Assist Corporate Purchasing with inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years experience in a Purchasing function to include working with suppliers and contractors.
  • Familiarity with standard Purchasing concepts, practices and procedures, as well as having intermediate knowledge on MRP systems such as PeopleSoft and Maximo

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree preferred.
