Systems Engineer Quantico, VA - onsite Top Secret/SCI clearance Must be Security+ certified Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Perform IT systems engineering tasks such as designing, building, and testing minor to significant IT solutions that meet customer requirements for software, hardware, and integration of software/hardware. • Assist system administrators and other team members in troubleshooting IT system problems. • Design, build, test, and implement software, hardware, and integrated solutions that meet customer requirements. • Develop and maintain current documentation on the configuration and testing of AFOSI IT systems. • Provide systems engineering support including analyzing, designing, installing, maintaining, and repairing hardware, networks, peripherals, and software. • Utilize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions, such as Splunk, to support Insider Threat and monitor overall systems health and security. • Provide technical support for over 3,000 users and 5,000 Windows client and server operating systems at over 220 locations worldwide on five networks of varying classifications. • Troubleshoot applications, hardware, network connectivity, and security. • Write/maintain scripts using PowerShell and other scripting languages to automate processes, install and configure programs, install updates, modify applications, and develop reports on users, computers, and servers. • Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members. • Ensure that all application deliverables and systems comply with applicable DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) or Security Requirements Guidance. Qualifications: • 5+ years experience in IT with at least 3 years of experience in systems engineering. • Must be Security+ certified (or equivalent certification to meet DoD 8140 requirements for IAT II). • Microsoft certification desired. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Exchange, Windows Administration, PowerShell, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques. • Experience with Active Directory and GPO. Strong knowledge of VMware to include ESXi, Virtual Center, and Horizon VDI. • Able to assess infrastructure, identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure desired. • Experience with GitHub a plus. • Able to provide technical guidance and direction to system administrators and help desk technicians. • Extensive experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) desired. • Experience with USAF IT environment and networks desired. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations. • Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI). #M2
