About this job

Position Summary: This position is part of the pediatric dental team. It see patients, cleans teeth, charts appointments, takes x-rays and provides general dental care for children and teens.

Expected Contributions:

  • Provide exceptional dental care for our patients
  • Be courteous and polite with patients, their families and fellow team members.
  • Follow all OSHA and HIPPA regulations
  • Be on time and at all scheduled shifts

Essential Functions:

  • Interacting directly with patients, the doctors other dental staff and other office and dental staff
  • Educating parents/patients about dental health, oral hygiene and recommended treatment. Cleaning/polishing teeth (prophylaxis)
  • Applying topical fluoride varnish (pediatric)
  • Digital charting and documentation
  • Taking digital radio graphs
  • Using various types of dental equipment
  • Instrument sterilization
  • Complying with OSHA & HIPAA regulations
  • Preparing for and obtaining "Expanded Duties Certification" in pediatric dentistry.
  • Other duties as assigned

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience:

  • Dental certificate preferred
  • 1+ years' experience working in a dental office preferred.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to patients, families, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Skills and Abilities: The ability to work well with a team, to prioritize, a sense of urgency and a real concern for guest satisfaction. Must be detailed oriented. Need strong clerical, organizational and communication skills.
