Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operations of small forklift
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings, job orders, tooling
  • Operation of the Saw
  • Operation of the mill
  • CNC Lathe operation on slips/nuts (with no assistance)
  • CNC Lathe operation on Weld Preps/P2Ps/NPTs
  • CNC Lathe operation on special materials and tighter tolerance products
  • Edit programming for CNC lathe software
  • Run repairs through CNC lathe
  • Operating the machine safely and competently in accordance with manufacturers' operating instructions and ensuring that good safety and housekeeping.
  • Ensure all components produced meet specifications using appropriate measuring equipment
  • Perform routine machine maintenance.
  • Monitor tool wear, change tools and inserts as required.
  • Good work ethic and flexibility to work overtime and shift is a must.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to contribute to continuous improvement techniques to improve output, quality, cost and delivery.
  • High standard of quality by minimizing scrap rate.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • Must be able to read and understand drawing and handle measuring instruments.
  • Basic knowledge about manual milling and lathe machines.
  • Good discipline and cooperation with others.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate (written and verbal).
  • Keen sense of attention to detail.
  • Able to lift heavy items.
  • Prefer 3-5 years of work experience manual milling or lathe as a Machinist.
  • CNC certification preferred.
  • Experience in handling with large, heavy parts as well as smaller components.
  • Able to stand on feet for long periods of time

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 50 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, safety shoes, and hardhats. Company uniforms must be worn at all times.
