In this position, you will be required to support the Payroll department through a number of duties including data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. In order to successfully perform as part of this dynamic, fast-growing team, a candidate will need to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside customers. This Payroll Clerk opportunity is based in the Stratford, Connecticut area and is a long-term contract / contract employment role.
Key responsibilities
- Run and build custom reports
- Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices
- Reach out to employees via phone and email to obtain timesheet approvals
- Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Administer and distribute reports as instructed
- Gather data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

- Proficient in Payroll software

- Accurate, swift, data entry abilities

- Microsoft Excel experience preferred

- Adeptness in Spanish Language

- Strong familiarity with Pivot Table

- Foundational knowledge in payroll systems for 100-500 employees

- Process Bi-weekly Payroll experience highly desired

- ADP - Payroll experience desired

- Be detailed, flexible, and organized

- 1+ years of previous payroll experience

- Excellent verbal, written, and social skills

- Ability to easily learn new systems
