Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist

Are you a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for an exciting opportunity to support students in their communication development within a school-based setting? We are seeking an experienced SLP to join our school district's team in providing exceptional speech and language therapy services to help students thrive academically and socially. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders and individualized treatment needs in school-aged children.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based speech therapy plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide in-person therapy sessions to students, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment that promotes progress.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to establish therapy goals and monitor students' communication progress.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and progress reports in compliance with school and state regulations.
  • Stay current with the latest research and trends in school-based speech-language pathology to enhance therapy techniques and outcomes.
  • Offer support, education, and guidance to students, their families, and school staff regarding communication disorders, strategies, and resources.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for students during therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • State licensure and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Previous experience working as an SLP in a school-based setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to assess and diagnose speech and language disorders accurately in school-aged children.
  • Proficiency in creating and executing individualized therapy plans within an educational context.
  • Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to support students in achieving their communication goals.
  • Ability to work effectively within a school team and collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students in an educational environment.
