About Us:
Bilingual Therapies is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join our team in Nehalem, Oregon. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across diverse educational settings.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students who are blind, have limited vision, or experience other visual impairments, using specialized methods and resources to enhance academic and functional skill development.
• Conduct thorough vision assessments and collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement customized Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.
• Adapt educational materials and utilize assistive technology to accommodate students' visual impairments, including proficiency in braille.
• Foster collaboration among teachers, support staff, and families to create inclusive learning environments that promote student independence and success.

Requirements:

• Possess a Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or a related field.
• Hold Oregon state certification or meet eligibility criteria for certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Demonstrate proficiency in braille and other specialized instructional techniques for students with visual impairments.
• Previous experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired in educational settings is preferred.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills are essential.
