SUMMARY

As the Senior Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, implementing cost control measures, and providing financial insight to support critical business decisions while ensuring GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) compliance. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and Chief Financial Officer, with regular intercompany interaction at all other levels of the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•        Performs cost analysis and general cost accounting activities.
•        Reviews and posts daily manufacturing accounting entries.
•        Analyzes and interprets financial data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement.
•        Prepares accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
•        Conducts cash flow analysis and monitors cash flow projections.
•        Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and ongoing forecasts.
•        Assists in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
•        Prepares daily operating performance analysis, including inventory movement, sales, and cost of goods sold.
•        Conducts financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business growth.
•        Participates in the development and implementation of cost management strategies.
•        Processes CAPEX requests, tracks spend, and manages fixed assets system.
•        Performs annual cost and inventory revaluation; partners with purchasing and operations teams to ensure accuracy of cost components.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

•       Bachelor of Accounting or Finance Degree (or related field).
•        5 or more years of cost based accounting experience.
•        Previous public accounting experience (preferred).
•       Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
•        Proficiency in financial analysis and budgeting.
•        Experience with QuickBooks accounting software.
•        Solid understanding of data collection methods and techniques.
•        Excellent analytical aptitude and attention to detail.
•        Proven ability to effectively problem solve.
•        Ability to operate independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
•        Effective communication abilities required to clearly articulate complex financial information in presentation format.
