Description:

Associate Analytical Chemist- Inorganic Chemistry- 2nd shift

  • Inorganic Chemistry focuses on elemental testing like heavy metal contaminants and mineral testing. They are checking to make sure Arsenic, Cadmium, Mercury, Lead, Antimony, Tin and Nickel are not in food products.
  • Main job responsibilities: Weighing and doing digestions
  • Will be setting samples for ICP-MS instrument
  • Weighing samples with analytical balances- (most will be weighed at the same weight)
  • Prepping samples for instrument analysis on ICP-MS
  • Using microwaves
  • Basic cleaning responsibilities when needed- Clean and scrub vessels- stocking
  • Monotonous work so need to be okay with doing basic lab work for 6 months
  • If someone has instrument experience, can fast track to being an Instrument Lead

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology or related life science degree

  • High attention to detail- need to document properly/need to be organized
  • Self motivated and can work independently (verified through references)
  • Team player
  • Strong work ethic/coachable
