The Opportunity

The Senior Director, Network Access Services will play a significant role in Feeding America's efforts to provide capacity building services related to conducting service area assessments, building operational response plans, and working with agency partners. This professional with oversee two teams, Access Capacity Services and Partner Network Services, and investments related to supporting food banks to best serve people facing hunger.

Salary Range: $131,000 - 136,000 Based on Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Vice President, Strategic Capacity Development to develop and execute strategy for Network Access Services teams to build network capacity, equitably meeting the need for healthy food, meet service requirement targets, and other resources in members' communities in collaboration with FANO leaders and members.
  • Oversee teams to ensure staff maintains strategic focus as well as culture of ongoing service improvement, professional development, and space for risk-taking and innovation. Create an environment in which individuals from diverse backgrounds can bring their full selves to work and one in which each individual's needs, goals and development is a priority.
  • Oversee strategy and resources for network members that address both persistent and emerging needs including webinars, convenings, assessments, institutes, forums for best practice sharing, and professional development workshops.
  • Work with Strategic Capacity Development leaders to develop and direct efforts of team to provide prioritized services and comprehensive metrics and evaluations to best support network capacity.
  • Forge and convene as needed strong partnerships with network leaders, leaders from across the national organization and, as appropriate, leaders from external partner organizations in the design and execution of this plan as it evolves to meet network needs.
  • In coordination with VP of Strategic Capacity Development, work across teams to identify emerging needs for capacity services, piloting new programs as appropriate to support network growth.
  • Ensure equitable access to strategic capacity services by lowering barriers to receive services and using an EDI analysis when reviewing and launching services.
  • Evaluate key trends from services to discern the effectiveness of programs, tools, and ongoing assessments that are provided to food bank members, partnering with Network Engagement and other internal teams to enhance and maintain the standard of services provided by the Network Access Services team.
  • Oversee the awarding and stewarding of grants, including implementation and reporting of outcomes (design, implement and oversee assigned grants; make direct funding recommendations, review progress reports, etc.).
  • In collaboration with VP of Strategic Capacity Development, establish annual goals, performance metrics, plans, and timelines to ensure execution toward goals and commitments for the Network Access Services team.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert as needed on donor-funded initiatives/projects, ensuring that key deliverables, budget, timelines, and action steps are clearly understood and met in order to meet the expectations of the donor(s) and comply with grant agreement terms.
  • Ensure services are created and executed in a collaborative, co-creative space between network members and Feeding America staff, benefiting diverse members with access to varying levels of resources, and a seamless member experience across the spectrum of capacity building services.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in managing programming and/or services in the human service sector, broader non-profit sector, healthcare setting, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of programs and interventions that address poverty and/or food insecurity, with subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: community food systems, older adults age 60+; children and families with children; services to people living in rural geographies.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of professionals in multiple organizations. Strong data analytics, problem-solving skills, and organizational skills.
