What we’re looking for:

As a Learning & Development Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, delivering, and evaluating learning programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and performance of employees within GTA. Your primary responsibility is to identify training needs, and design and deliver training programs, ensuring engaging and effective learning experiences that align with organizational goals and objectives. The Learning & Development Trainer helps employees cultivate their skills and knowledge by sharing expertise in ways that motivate others.

 

Here’s what the role looks like:

The L&D Trainer’s main focus is on:

  1. Educating employees on the company vision, mission, values.
  2. Elevating the customer experience through tailored training.
  3. Providing comprehensive product knowledge, designing and implementing training on company processes and tools (e.g., Omnia, Qmatic, Account 360).
  4. Collaborating with People Operations for compliance and other training requirements.
  5. Ensuring effective communication within and across teams.
  6. Promoting a growth mindset and fostering a culture of continuous learning as it is who we are at GTA.
  7. Encouraging employees to consistently deliver high performance.
  8. Teaching teams to bring their “A” game to work every day.

 

Organizational skills, critical thinking, collaboration amongst teams, and a positive attitude are important qualities an individual in this role must possess. The L&D Trainer’s responsibilities include enhancing employees’ skills, performance, productivity, and quality of work. The goal is to promote efficiency and competitive advantage by developing the skills of GTA employees.

  • Training Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and design effective learning programs. Incorporate innovative techniques such as gamification and artificial intelligence (AI) to create engaging and interactive training experiences that drive knowledge retention and skill development.
  • Training Delivery: Facilitate dynamic and immersive training sessions using a variety of delivery methods, including workshops, seminars, e-learning platforms, and gamified simulations. Leverage AI-driven tools (ie. Mentimeter, SurveyMonkey, Microsoft Forms, etc.) to personalize learning and provide real-time feedback to participants.
  • Champion of GTA Learning Culture: Demonstrate a deep desire to be a champion of our learning culture through interactions with employees. Embody the organization's values, mission, and vision in all training activities and interactions. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes collaboration, respect, and continuous improvement.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to the organization's training needs. Integrate gamified elements into training content to enhance engagement and effectiveness.
  • Evaluation and Feedback: Utilize analytics and data-driven insights to assess the effectiveness of training programs. Gather participant feedback and performance metrics to continuously refine and improve training content, delivery methods, and learning outcomes.
  • Mentorship and Support: Cultivate an environment where employees feel empowered to ask questions and seek guidance without fear of judgment or reprisal. Foster open communication channels and actively encourage dialogue to address any concerns or uncertainties individuals may have. Create a safe space for exploration and learning, where curiosity is celebrated, and mistakes are viewed as opportunities for growth.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, department managers, and People Operations to align training initiatives with organizational objectives. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure buy-in and support for innovative learning and development strategies.
  • Adaptability and Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in learning and development. Experiment with new tools and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and accessibility of training programs.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure training programs adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards. Maintain accurate BHR records of training activities, attendance, and compliance documentation, leveraging BambooHR for streamlined documentation and reporting.
  • Impeccable Work and Attention to Detail: Demonstrate a strong passion for delivering impeccable work and adding value through a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Strive for excellence in all training initiatives, ensuring that each program is meticulously planned, executed, and evaluated to maximize impact and effectiveness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Candidates must show:  

  • Phenomenal communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Understand and use traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.).
  • Resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving and program development.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
  • Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in corporate teaching.

 

About You  

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED.
  • BS/BA in business, Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Psychology, or relevant field preferred.
  • Certification (e.g. CPTD, CPLP, CPTM) is a plus.
  • 3+ years experience in training or development.
  • Proven experience facilitating training in an adult learning environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); e-learning software is an asset.
  • Must have and maintain a current valid Guam Driver’s License.
  • Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance.
  • Must be able to work any shift and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary to meet the needs and goals of the business.
