Job Description:

The IRS Team is seeking a talented and experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will play a key role in integrating Data Science, Machine Learning, and Software to support individual and business tax filings. Your expertise will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enable efficient and accurate processing of tax data.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and deploy machine learning models and algorithms.
- Develop and maintain scalable and efficient machine learning pipelines to process large volumes of tax data.
- Conduct data cleaning, feature engineering, and data preprocessing to ensure data quality for model training and evaluation.
- Research and apply state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to optimize tax data processing and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into existing software systems for tax filing support.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations in all machine learning processes and solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning, data science, and software engineering domains, and identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
- Participate in code reviews, documentation, and knowledge sharing to maintain high-quality standards and promote best practices.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms.
- Strong knowledge of machine learning techniques such as supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and deep learning.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in machine learning, such as Python, R, or Java.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with data preprocessing techniques, feature selection, and feature engineering.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts and their application in machine learning.
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets and effectively communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with cloud platforms and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., AWS, Azure, Spark) is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork and knowledge sharing.
