The primary objective is to contribute to the economic redevelopment of the Hinton Historic District through the preservation of the community’s history, architecture, and culture while serving the needs of local citizens, guests, and visitors.


Job Description


We are seeking part-time and full-time Retail Associates to be a part of a growing company reporting to the Otter & Oak Manager. This position will be an integral member of our retail team and will interact regularly with team members, local citizens, guests, visitors, and vendors.


Job Duties


The successful applicants would be responsible to greet and educate customers on products of an outfitter general store, Otter & Oak, in addition to being community ambassadors and enhancing each customer's visit with knowledge of the area. This position is also responsible for:


  • Help maintain accurate inventory levels between the online and brick-and-mortar location
  • Be eager at maintaining a neat work environment and a visually appealing sales floor
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold
  • Process customer transactions quickly, accurately, and efficiently and provide them with fresh products they have ordered
  • Recommend products to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need
  • Collaborate with fellow associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company and store goals
  • Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads, offers, and/or promotions
  • Label, stock and inventory department merchandise
  • Assist with daily, weekly and monthly price changes by updating labels and signs
  • Plan, organized and supervised the inventory process and maintained an awareness of inventory and stocking conditions; note any discrepancies in inventory
  • Manually attach price labels on products
  • Stock merchandise and maintain displays
  • Assure the department and backrooms are clean and orderly
