Due to our continued growth and success, we are currently seeking a Materials Requirements Planner to join our team.
Position Overview:
This position reports to the Branch Manager and involves the direct parts planning, expediting and coordination to ensure smooth flow of goods from the supply chain through to the customer. Works closely interfacing with specific internal customer representatives (CRM), focus on planning and replenishment of inventory and other duties as defined by a scope, priority, customer or commodity specifically assigned. This position carries responsibility to plan, aid in planning or help in designated areas of maintaining inventory levels as directed by management.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist in the development and implementation of material planning strategies to optimize inventory levels while minimizing carrying costs.
- Monitor inventory levels and product demand to forecast future material requirements.
- Collaborate with Sales and purchasing teams to ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
- Analyze inventory data and trends to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Submit purchase requests and track the status of orders to ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and supplier performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline material planning processes and enhance efficiency.
- Communicate effectively with purchasing to resolve issues related to delivery schedules, quality, and pricing.
- Support cross-functional teams in projects related to inventory management, supplier selection, and cost reduction initiatives.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Prior internship or coursework in supply chain management or inventory control is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
