Summary:

Responsible for ordering all overseas supplied materials. Evaluate data integrity in the MRP system. Review new product requirements to provide a smooth transition for manufacturing.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• Order Management: Prepare, execute, and manage the monthly/weekly order schedule to achieve inventory goals. Coordinate activities and communication with Customer Support to adjust plans for changes in forecast, actual supply, or demand. Orders and replenishes inventories in line with supplier lead times and requirements.
• Supplier Interaction: Manages routine contact with suppliers to coordinate the timely flow of information relating to purchase orders and supplier commitments. Tracks supplier commitments, production schedules, and shipments in-transit.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers and suppliers the required international shipping and commercial documents. Coordinate inventory planning and replenishment of raw materials & components.
• Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in GSS ERP system.
• Proactively provide supply status and shipment tracking from suppliers in Japan, China, and Thailand.
• Proactively report product and material availability issues.
• System data integrity: Responsible for the accurate input and maintenance of item master data within GSS. This includes, but is not limited to, purchase price, standard cost, lead times, ABC, and cycle count codes.
• Responsible for overall master data maintenance in systems associated with supply planning such as lead times, transportation modes, sourcing information, safety stocks, etc.
• Proactively utilize MRP's and other tools to review inventory projections & supply-demand summaries to prevent potential shortages or excessive inventory and demurrage. Implement and maintain inventory and material management strategies by regular review and optimization of inventory parameters and levels (e.g. reorder pt, safety stock, ABC categorization, forecast bias, etc..). Set up inventory targets and monitor actual inventory levels vs targets.
• Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize aged inventory and eventual write-offs.
• Complete special projects and assignments as requested.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Business or Logistics or related field.
• Prior experience in Supply Chain operations or five years of manufacturing supply chain experience.
• Knowledge of GSS is a plus.
• Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize.
• Computer skills in Excel, Word and MRP systems.
• Team member with a positive attitude.
• Interpretation support for meetings, documentation, etc.
