Job Description
Position: Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio / HYBRID

Description: Expanding aviation services company seeks a Senior Systems Integration Engineer responsible for generating and checking avionics electrical systems drawings (i.e., Wiring Diagrams, Harness Assembly, Routing, and Clamping) for commercial and business jet OEM aircraft. Serve as primary technical interface with external organizations and integrate the efforts of supporting functions.Primary Responsibilities
  • Accomplish detailed electrical systems design of aircraft installations and alterations (antennas, avionics equipment, interior components).
  • Prepare or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work to resolve systems manufacturing and installation problems quickly.
  • Attend and/or assist aircraft surveys and the installation of systems on prototype and production aircraft to verify that all FAA/EASA regulations are complied with for a STC.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD software applications.
  • Requires working knowledge of and experience with design methodologies and practices.
  • Monitor and report project status against technical requirements.
  • Provide systems engineering guidance/counsel and communicate program information within the organization and supporting groups.
  • Approximately 20% travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical or Aerospace) or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years minimum experience with avionics or cabin electronics design and aircraft modifications projects
  • Must be able to work either alone or as part of a team to solve problems.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to generate alternative ideas.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of FAA (or other) regulatory certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on operating avionics systems or performing modifications, on aircraft is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ATA 100 format, Boeing, and Airbus AMM, IPC and SRM
  • Enjoys the challenges of working projects that vary greatly and have the distinct potential to require significant changes or alterations in mid-stream, remaining flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to interact with and maintain external relationships with customers, including airlines, DoD, OEMs, vendors, engineering partners, and internal relationships with manufacturing and installation modification teams.
  • Must be willing to submit to the company’s background verification and DOT/FAA drug test requirements.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Required
  • Deep Avionics technical background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, in-depth understanding of aircraft avionics functionality, and demonstrated integration and test experience.
  • Knowledge of aircraft integration of avionics and communication systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering design concepts and techniques.
  • Experience in change and configuration management.
  • Must be a team player with the innate ability to help the Engineering team achieve success and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid company office/home office on a frequent basis.
  • Memory for detail, capacity for supporting team members to remain on path.
  • Must be able to travel on short notice to support projects.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to support remote modifications with travel and on-site technical expertise on a frequent basis both domestically and internationally as may be required.
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, motivating and tactful manner.
