Hydraulic Hose Technician

We are seeking a Hydraulic Technician to join our team! You will repair hydraulic hoses, build hoses from scratch according to customer needs and assist in day-to-day store operations which include finding parts and completing sales.

Responsibilities:

• Repair, patch and build hydraulic hoses in a timely and precise manner.
• Assist customers with finding items they need throughout the store rather it be bolts, general hardware or household items in addition to hose assembly.
• Ability to understand technical aspects of hydraulic hose sizes, threads, types and specs. Ability to understand technical aspects of hydraulic fittings, adapters, couplings, ferrules, connectors, general hardware bolts, nails, screws, lug nuts and others.
• Understand the needs of every customer and help them find a solution for the type of hose they need built or the right product they need.
• Operate hydraulic machinery.
• Complete and process sales on a point-of-sale register.
• Be efficient and timely on hydraulic projects as well as other tasks.
• Keep track of hydraulic inventory (fittings, hoses, etc) and be able to create an order for out-of-stock items. May also track inventory and create orders for other store departments.
• Stock items and diligently work through each order to find any discrepancies and mistakes to report.
• Keep track of personal hydraulic material waste.
• Answer phone calls.
• Keep your work area organized, tidy and report any problems to management.
• During every shift you are expected to be assisting customers, completing tasks and projects or at your designated working stations preparing for the next job.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Fill propane tanks.
• Unload freight trucks.
• Load pipe and other products for customers.
• Any tasks, projects or other work that is expected, requested and required.

​Qualifications:

• Previous experience making hydraulic hoses, operating machinery, working in the industrial or mechanical field, sales and customer service. We may be willing to train the right person if you have mechanical experience, very good knowledge of fittings and are quick to learn.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with hydraulic tools, hoses, fittings and equipment.
• Technological ability to use a desktop computer, point of sale and tablet for logging jobs.
• Ability to handle heavy and oily objects.
• Ability to stand, walk and lift up to 60Ibs during your shifts.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain focused when you have multiple work orders due.
• Be able and comfortable handling and processing cash, card and charge sales. Overall familiarity with computer technology.
• Willingness to adhere to all policies set forth by Bradshaw Supply and to make this a career that you want to exceed in.
• Forklift certification would be a PLUS but is not required. We may offer forklift certification class reimbursement for an employee should the job require it.

This position allows you to make not only an annual salary, but also commission starting at 60 days after a good review of hydraulic/parts knowledge.

Employees are expected to work efficiently and timely. Our hydraulic shop is our busiest department for our growing hardware store. We serve customers throughout South-Eastern North Carolina who trust our work and recommendations.
