Concrete Finisher

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Placing forms that hold concrete to ensure the required depth and pitch is received.

· Monitoring the effect heat, wind and cold have on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results.

· Molding and removing edges on expansion joints and sides

· Installing anchor bolts, steel plates and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.

· Polishing surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools, and surfacing machines.

· Aligning forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters.

· Waterproofing, damp-proofing and restoring concrete surfaces.

· Compacting materials using power vibrators to create leveled bases.

· Finishing concrete surfaces with rough or smooth patterns depending on the customers preference.

· Signaling truck drivers and moving chutes to facilitate pouring concrete onto forms.

· Casting and spreading concrete to patch voids.

· Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.

· Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

· Properly follow all company policies and OSHA.

· Assist construction / paving crew with various duties such as; shoveling, raking and running wheelbarrow.

· Perform general labor duties when necessary

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Must know how to use hand-held and power tools like cutting saws, power vibrators, polishers, and edging tools.

· Communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors

· Maintain an effective working relationship with others.

· Perform with minimum supervision

· Perform heavy physical work, often under adverse weather conditions

· Available to work overtime
