Concrete Curb and Flatwork

Job Description: As a concrete flatwork and curb construction worker, you will be responsible for constructing various concrete structures such as sidewalks, driveways, patios, and curbs. Your duties will involve preparing the worksite, mixing and pouring concrete, finishing surfaces, and ensuring that all structures meet specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare worksite by excavating, grading, and compacting soil as necessary.
2. Set forms to outline the dimensions of the concrete structure, ensuring proper alignment and elevation.
3. Mix concrete according to specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
4. Pour concrete into forms, spreading and leveling it with rakes, shovels, and screeds.
5. Smooth and finish concrete surfaces using trowels, floats, and brooms to achieve desired texture and appearance.
6. Install expansion joints and reinforcement materials as required.
7. Apply curing compounds and sealants to protect finished surfaces from premature drying and damage.
8. Erect and install curbs, gutters, and other concrete elements according to blueprints and design plans.
9. Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
10. Maintain tools, equipment, and worksite cleanliness.
11. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times.
12. Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and other team members to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
