Stretch's Speed Shop Inc. is a hot rod shop in Harbor City, CA offering the finest in quality and performance. We specialize in building and modernizing classic vehicles between the years of 1953-1988, ranging from modern engine swaps to basic maintenance and diagnostics. We provide a very high end service to our clients including modern engine swaps and high performance upgrades, using only the best materials and American made quality tools. Harbor Freight tools, for example, is not acceptable. We are looking for a mechanic who has a passion for classic cars, understands the fundamentals of the restoration process, and is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship. Requirements: - 3 years or more experience in the Automotive or Hot Rod industry - Proficient knowledge of methods, parts, tools, and materials used in the hot rod industry - Maintain proper record of time and materials - Be adaptable to changes in day to day schedules - Operate and own a variety of hand and power tools, operate equipment with proper safety protocol - Ability to thrive in a team-based environment and support teammates as needed - Personal tools and tool box is required Proficient mechanical skills in the following areas: - Basic maintenance and diagnostics - Engine and transmission removals/installs - Aftermarket or custom brake kit installs - Performance fuel system upgrades - Suspension removal/installs - Chassis removal/installs - Knowledge of the restoration process - High performance system installs i.e. Holley Snipers, Superchargers, etc - Electrical and/or fabrication skills are a bonus
