Success Coach - Now Hiring

Buena Vista University (BVU) seeks a collaborative and detail-oriented individual who is a strong relationship builder to serve as a Success Coach. This individual is responsible for providing holistic coaching and developing one-on-one relationships with students to promote persistence and graduation. Success Coaches carry a caseload of students who are in their first or second year at BVU and help students with accessing resources on campus, exploring their major, finding extracurricular involvements, financial planning, career advice, and general support in navigating college. Success Coaches are responsible for coordinating pre-arrival outreach to students, maintaining regular communication including 1:1 meetings, and coordinating workshops to address student transition issues. These positions are critical to providing guidance and support to students who have had more difficulties in transitioning to college due to the pandemic. These individuals will proactively work with students to support their growth, development, and success at BVU. Success Coaches will also assist with Student Success major programs and BVU traditions including but not limited to Orientation, Welcome Weekend, Resident Move-In, and Buenafication Day. Qualified applicants must be highly motivated, personable, flexible, detail-focused, and adaptable to changing environments and possess excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated experience with higher education, life coaching, leadership programs, or similar areas is needed. Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred, preferably with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages. Bachelor’s Degree required.
