Materials and Manufacturing Technology is focused on discovering, developing, and transitioning innovative materials and manufacturing technologies into products. Our team is looking for a high-performing, collaborative Chemical Technology Engineer to evaluate, analyze, and define innovative sealant systems and materials across the client Enterprise and into the supplier network. We are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Early-Level Engineers located in Seattle, Washington.

Position Responsibilities:
* Evaluates parts, materials, processes, technology, or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and adherence to requirements and specifications.
* Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures.
* Generates test plans, catalogs test data, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root causes, and documents results and recommendations as well as operating procedures.
* Proposes, develops, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications.
* Determines suitability of parts, materials, and processes and coordinates resolution of issues with suppliers and customers.
* Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by designing, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating, and implementing new concepts and technology.
* Provides knowledge and technical consultation to internal and external customers.
* Performs sealant testing to analyze and develop materials with improved characteristics and properties for future and sustaining program efforts.
* Generates testing coupons, operates test equipment, conducts test activities, monitors test procedures, author test reports, and maintains compliance with laboratory safety practices.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. *120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Top Must Haves:
1. Laboratory (lab) test experience (1 year)
2. Working in or around raw chemicals, specifically sealants
3. Experience developing laboratory documentation, test procedures, and data collection protocols

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
* 1 year of experience working in a chemical laboratory environment.
* 1 year of lab test operations experience.
* 1 year of experience operating test equipment (e.g. Instron).
* Tolerance working with and around chemicals (e.g. sealants).
* Experience developing laboratory documentation, test procedures, and data collection protocols.
* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures (e.g., blueprint/schematic reading, specification, change, design).
* Organizational skills to handle multiple program and work requests from start to finish.
* Strong ability to perform work independently as well as work well with others.
* High attention to detail, self-starter, and results-driven.
* Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to perform effectively in a team environment.
* Experience with MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
* 2+ years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Experience with sealant coupon generating and testing techniques and processes.
* Mechanical knowledge of different equipment found in chemical labs (e.g. Instron, etc).
