Job Description
Snelling is recruiting for a skilled Controls Engineer in the Trafford, AL area! This award-winning organization is recognized in the security industry as a premier consultant, supplier, integrator, and installer of high-security vehicle barriers.
Experienced engineers may start around $70,000-$100,000 or more, depending on relevant experience.
Controls Engineer Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and prepare Bill of Materials, control drawings of control systems for new installation projects all the way from specification to commissioning.
- Work with project management and field installation teams to coordinate installation and commissioning schedules.
- Prepare, implement, and test PLC and HMI programming for projects.
- Help to document completed projects with as-built drawings, O&M manuals.
- Design and improve control systems for new and existing products.
- Travel is expected to be 25-30%, but can vary based on workload, customer demand, site conditions, etc. Travel includes domestic and international.
Controls Engineer Experience Required:
- Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and programming platforms.
- RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000.
- Studio 5000.
- FactoryTalk Studio ME for PanelView.
- Design and implementation of the following:
- Ethernet networks.
- Remote I/O systems.
- System Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) control.
- Single axis servo control.
- Quadrature and/or resolver encoders.
- Complex sequencer/state logic programming.
- Photo-Electrics
- AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Individuals must at least be able to pass a security background check at the “Secure” level.
