The Company is headquartered in Arlington, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas/Ft. Worth ‘Metroplex’. The Corporate Headquarters is located within walking distance of the iconic AT&T Stadium, home of the 5-time Super Bowl Champion Dallas Cowboys, and The Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers baseball club. DFW Airport is also nearby. Our Manufacturing facility is in Arlington, Texas.

Summary: Our Maintenance Manager will serve as a player-coach, over a department of 20 maintenance professionals, to oversee all maintenance and facilities functions across four facilities (primary facility in Arlington and all others within driving distance). He/she will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and increased uptime of Molding equipment, support equipment, and material feed equipment. The Maintenance Manager will also support new equipment justification and installation. This is a transformative leadership role, with a focus on establishing consistency for job performance across the maintenance team. Prospective candidates must have a passion for improvement, preventative maintenance, and overall cost reduction of spend to their departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Identify and prioritize projects that improve the key metrics of the position. Reduce the operating cost of our equipment fleet.
  • Creates and manages overall maintenance budget and makes recommendations for capital projects. Monitors and controls labor, MRO, expense, and overtime costs.
  • Implement cost rationalization programs validating capital expenditure needs (such as buying new or repairing existing equipment) and effectively communicating financial scenarios and/or impact on budget.
  • Drives engagement & accountability within the maintenance team to deliver results. Leads and encourages problem solving by all team members. Uses data and data trends to understand opportunities to reduce risk and creates/implements counter measure plans to reduce risk and reoccurrence.
  • Direct and ensure team’s ability to effectively perform complex preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities on industrial machinery and assembly equipment.
  • Analyze equipment and maintenance metrics to prioritize maintenance work assignments to continually improve machine reliability, safety, quality, and throughput.
  • Develop and maintain training and onboarding programs for maintenance technicians. Also serve as mentor for cross-functional safety teams.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to safety and zero injuries through personal leadership and actions.
  • Responsible for all aspects of maintenance including ensuring OSHA lock out/tag out procedures are in place/documented, 100% compliance with regulations, preventative maintenance schedules, permits, and codes.
  • Develop a capital budget system to reduce repair and maintenance spending while increasing equipment uptime.
  • Collaborate with peers to evaluate priorities of maintenance and repairs. Schedule downtimes for preventive maintenance of equipment working with planning department to minimize impact on production schedules.
  • Manage vendor relationships and maintenance contracts (with machine shops and companies that do outside repairs) to ensure high quality work, in agreed upon schedule and on budget.
  • Collaborate with production to improve task assignments, training 5S standards, and inventory control practices, along with detailed root cause analysis of equipment failures.
  • Support the implementation and utilization of a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Develop and implement proactive approaches to maintenance that result in improved metrics that are “world class.” Among these approaches are preventative maintenance and predictive techniques,

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lead and directly supervise up to 20 employees (2 Supervisors & 18 Associates) in 24/7 day working environment.
    • Overtime and weekends (Saturday/Sunday) may be required.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, and retaining of added workforce; planning, assigning, and delegating work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Cross training of current staff to improve overall knowledge throughout their department.
  • Responsible for 4 sites in the DFW area.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and minimum of 10 years high-volume manufacturing experience OR equivalent combination of education and maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, with proven track record of building high performance teams.
  • Experience in maintaining different make and models of Plastic Injection, Blow Molding, Structural Foam machines.
  • Ability to assist in environmental compliance within the department and assist environmental specialist when needed.
  • Computer skills required, to include database software, spreadsheet and word processing Microsoft Office software.
  • Previous experience with CMMS.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience launching new CMMS system preferred.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma experience.
