Job Description
Summary
Our Electrical Engineer will work on the testing of the light rail vehicles to make sure they function correctly and produce the expected results. The main goal of the Commissioning Engineer is to work with our complete CRRC team to thoroughly test and commission our products to achieve high customer satisfaction and a reliable product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop an expert role in the commissioning of CRRC Light Rail Vehicles.
  • Develop commissioning plans for upcoming vehicle testing, and commissioning schedules and track progress against the schedule
  • Create an open item list to record, track, and close issues identified during commissioning.
  • Create detailed commissioning records as a part of the car history book.
  • Optimize test procedures, work instructions, and related technical documents to improve usability and efficiency.
  • Identify and drive the purchase of equipment and tooling required for commissioning.
  • Collaborate with CRRC Engineering, Quality, Production, Procurement, and Project Management to streamline commissioning processes.
  • Provide support to the end customer (CTA) on in-process inspection and final functional inspection before delivery.
  • Provide on-site technical support to end customers (CTA) as requested.
  • Provide technical expertise to commissioning technicians and after-sales field service teams.
  • Lead teams of technicians, vendors, and/or engineers to work onsite for diagnosing and troubleshooting faults.
  • Develop and implement a training program for dynamic and static commissioning.
  • Mentor commissioning technicians on commissioning best practices.
  • Convert and implement engineering change notifications issued by the parent company.
  • Contribute and communicate technical feedback to Engineering to drive optimal reliability and maintainability of the product.
  • Contribute and instruct electricians on train wiring, wire termination, and connector assembling.
  • Contribute and instruct electricians on train wiring tests including continuity test, wire insulation test, and high potential test.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and create a solution to production issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Required
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical/Control/Computer Science Engineering.
  • One to three years of relevant Testing & Commissioning work experience with strong learning ability
  • Ability to work across multiple systems and develop core competencies beyond the engineering field of study.
  • Strong skills in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Willingness to take a hands-on approach to commission.
  • Ability to learn new software programs in a continuously evolving environment.
  • Experienced with the use of testing and measuring instruments; such as reading different meters, sensors, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for
Preferred
  • Rail industry field service or commissioning experience
  • Experience in the principles of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and speak Mandarin
