Grounds Maintenance

Attention all summer lovers! We have a fun opportunity for seasonal Grounds Technicians. The positions may start as early as April, dependent on the temperatures. Below is detailed job information:

JOB SUMMARY

Maintain the grounds of Company model and spec homes as well as the common and owned areas of Company Communities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Maintain the landscaped areas of model and spec homes as well as in common and open areas including but not limited to planting, mulching, weeding, watering, etc as well as planting and maintaining planters, flower gardens, hedges, shrubs, and small trees.
2. Mow, fertilize, repair and in other ways maintain the grass areas of model and spec homes as well as common and open areas.
3. Maintain community signage.
4. Maintain, clean, and keep equipment in good working order.
5. Keep jobsites, tools, and Company vehicles clean.
6. Adhere to Company safety plan and OSHA requirements.
7. Accomplish other tasks as assigned by the Director of Construction, Executive Vice President, or President.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

1. Basic knowledge of construction and use of hand and power tools.
2. Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (80 pounds), perform manual work, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
3. Ability and willingness to understand, follow, and transmit both written and oral instructions.
4. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
5. Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
6. Noise level may be loud.
7. Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.

The employee is required to climb a ladder for heights up to 60 feet and crawl for distances up to 50 feet. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions and is exposed to excessive heat, cold, wind, rain and other weather-related conditions. Work may be conducted on uneven terrain. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, vibration and risk of electrical shock. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The performance of this position will require the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses and hearing protection.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Local travel is required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School or equivalent required preferred.
• 2-4 years of residential related experience.
