As a CAD Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in engineering cutting-edge electronic life-safety and security systems, including fire alarm and gas detection systems, intrusion detection systems, video surveillance, and access control systems. You'll work closely with our Operations Manager, sales team, and external partners to ensure our designs meet rigorous standards and help safeguard communities and businesses.

Candidates with prior knowledge of life-safety, security or electrical contracting are preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Engineer detailed design drawings in AutoCAD and/or AlarmCAD for life safety and security systems.

- Ensure compliance with codes and regulations by coordinating with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).

- Support sales efforts with accurate take-offs and material lists.

- Engage with licensed PEs for plan review and stamping, and coordinate with the Planning Coordinator for design submissions.

- Develop and refine design SOPs, contributing to our ongoing pursuit of excellence.

- Continually expand your professional knowledge through industry seminars and training.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with two years of CAD experience, or a CAD Certification with four years of CAD experience.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.

- A flexible approach to project schedules and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Excellent communication skills, with a knack for working collaboratively across teams.

- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Physical Requirements:

- Comfort with physical activities such as standing, climbing ladders, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.

- Ability to work in various environments, including office settings and onsite project locations.

Expected hours of work

- Typically, 40 hours a week, during normal business hours

- Completes regular network maintenance outside of normal business hours, typically one to two times a month.

- Occasional work outside of typical hours to support special projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
