Position Description: TITLE: \t\t\tConstruction Supervisor
DEPARTMENT (S):\tFiber
DIRECT REPORTs:\tLaborers, Construction Crews, Foremen
REPORTS TO: \t\tConstruction Manager
POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for the performance and safety of all crew members on their projects. By educating and leading by example all team members on safety procedures, managing the quality of all work performed, and by making recommendations for improvements, you will ensure that projects stay within budget and work is delivered on time.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
\tEnsures adherence to and demonstrates a sound understanding of safety best practices and regulations
\tMonitors all work performed and provides crews training where needed
\tPerforms equipment, material, and routine site inspections
\tEnsures teams work together to deliver quality work to strict deadlines
\tProvides leadership and guidance to develop their team members skills and abilities
\tManages subcontractors and vendors
\tAvailable for rotational on-call work
\tReconciles work production tasks as they relate to invoicing
\tWalks out jobs and properly white lines areas for new work
\tEnsures dig tickets are called in and follows up with local jurisdictions
\tPositively motivates crew, especially when fighting the elements or behind on projects
\tConducts quality assurance inspections during and after completion of work to ensure compliance to customer specific requirements
\tCommunicates effectively with homeowners associations and hangs door tags to inform residents of an upcoming project, etc.
\tOther duties as assigned
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
\tCritical thinking skills
\tConflict resolution skills
\tGood analytical skills with the ability to plan, predict, investigate, and find solutions
\tStrong work ethic, leads by example, and does what it takes to get the job done
\tComputer experience in Microsoft Office Suite and with various other construction and financial software programs
\tExcellent at relationship building
\tAbility to communication with clarity at the frequencies required by management and customers
\tAbility to travel to multiple sites as required
\tWork independently with minimal supervision
\tRead and understand construction maps, drawings, and diagrams
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
\tOne plus years as a construction supervisor in in telecom
\tConstruction background (aerial, underground, etc.)
\tBasic knowledge of splicing
\tValid drivers license and excellent driving record
\tMust be able to pass a DOT physical
\tMust be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
\tUnderstands flag and tag procedures
\tHigh School Diploma or GED
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
\tPermitting Experience
\tBi-lingual (Spanish/English)
\tUndergraduate degree
\tCDL License
$60,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually
