Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Laboratory Technician I is responsible for testing all aspects of physical testing and durability testing for supplementary cementitious materials. All tests will be performed following ASTM and MTRF Standard Operating Procedures. This position is expected to handle job assignments as determined by the management of the MTRF.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Comply with Eco Material Technologies Safety Policies and Procedures
- Perform physical and durability testing on supplementary cementitious materials
- Assist with concrete testing and other projects
- Responsible for laboratory housekeeping
- Regular attendance and timeliness
- Forklift training and operation
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong math skills
- Good organization and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to interpret and follow detailed instructions such as ASTM Standards and Eco Material Technologies Standard Operating Procedures
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
- ACI Certification
- Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I (Certification must be achieved within18 months of initial employment)
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee should possess the ability to:
- Be exposed to sounds or noise levels that maybe uncomfortable
- Prolong standing on concrete or in stationary position for up to eight hours per workday
- Complete repetitive movements
- Moderate physical effort required
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (Hearing, vision, and hardhat protection)
- Lift/move/transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to move or traverse about the facility
- Must be able to ascend/descend stairs or ladders
- Ability to work around dust, chemicals, and other substances, and in various environmental conditions
