Summary
We are currently seeking a full time toddler teacher to join our team. If you are interested in joining a truly fulfilling, rewarding career path you will learn to:
- Maintain a harmonious Montessori classroom while providing gentle guidance as necessary under the direction of the Director
- Pay particular attention to the needs of the students, while carefully observing and recording each student’s individual progression through the classroom
- Assist the Director in coordinating field trips, as well as any additional educational experiences and programs
- Facilitate 2 parent/teacher conferences over the course of a school year
Duties
- Prepare daily lessons in accordance with the Montessori Philosophy with assistance from the Director
- Organize and record daily development of each child
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date file for each child regarding their academic progress
- Fill out conference reports on children, providing proper and thorough written documentation of each child’s progress for inclusion in their file and distribution to the parents
- Assist in the coordination of field trips and any additional educational experiences
- Inform the Director and/or Board of Directors of any classroom difficulties, including discipline, health, equipment needs, repairs and maintenance as deemed necessary
- Meet with the Director and other teachers on a regular basis to discuss goals for the classroom and individual students
- Participate in monthly board meetings, Parent orientations, family gatherings and fundraisers
