Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The B2B business delivers $2B+ in Net Income to Synchrony and provides comprehensive financing solutions to 250,000+ active merchants in 20+ markets.  The B2B products offered to our merchants and providers are delivered through a variety of platforms and channels.  Synchrony is seeking an experienced Digital Product Owner to lead the development, launch and support of new features and enhancements for the Synchrony Transact platform. The ideal candidate will be adept at quickly understanding a variety of technologies and platforms, possess a strong digital product and project management background and a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.  This position will report to the Vice President, B2B Digital Program Manager.

Synchrony product functionalities are developed in our Innovation Station, a collaborative environment comprised of dedicated and cross-functional teams focused on emerging technology, ideation and Agile development of new products. Whether located onsite or in a remote office, the candidate chosen for this outstanding opportunity will be involved in daily interaction with team members throughout the US and offshore.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversight and leadership of the wing-to-wing product development cycle including build, test, launch, and performance metrics

  • Work with key stakeholders (Product Management, TechOps, Legal, Compliance, and Credit) to identify and prioritize new product features and the pathway to market delivery

  • Lead projects in Agile development methodologies - define story acceptance criteria, manage and prioritize the team backlog, collaborate with the Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, System Architects, developers and other subject matter experts and contribute to the overall team vision and roadmap

  • Participate in and work in Scaled Agile Framework® including multiple Agile Release Trains

  • Work with system architect/engineering to understand Enabler work

  • Lead product demos and Inspect and Adapt activities

  • Coordinate and lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for releases

  • Work with internal and external UX and UI partners to create screen prototypes/wireframes, gather feedback and adjust to optimize performance 

  • Provide updates to Senior Leaders and other internal and external stakeholders

  • Partner with internal and external groups to gather market intelligence and user VOC and translate the results into detailed product requirements

  • Collaborate with the Digital Analytics team to develop KPIs, monitor performance, analyze user behavior and optimize usage patterns

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 7+ years of Project Management experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading software development projects

Desired Characteristics:

  • 2+ years of experience managing B2B digital products and/or platforms

  • 2+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master, in a Product Owner role

  • Agile Product Owner (CSPO) or Scrum Master (CSM) or comparable certification

  • Knowledge of Scrum and Scrum tools (i.e. JIRA)

  • Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in a cross-functional and virtual environment

  • High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal and written)

  • Product Management and / or Business Analyst experience

  • Passion for learning about new technologies and identifying ways to drive innovation

  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills within all levels of the organization. Effectively communicate and influence all leadership levels of Synchrony and its partners.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and implement actionable plans to drive business results

  • Strong project management experience with a record of delivering on time and across functions

  • Strong digital proficiency, including launching new products and capabilities and understanding of mobile devices and applications

  • Consumer finance and/or retail marketing experience with an understanding of core financial drivers

Grade/Level: 11

                                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                 

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
