Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Auto Body Estimator position helps ensure the overall efficiency, profitability, and reputation of our auto body operations by providing timely, accurate, and customer-approved estimates for repair work. This position must document estimates and the necessary repair work according to established industry standards and insurance company regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum of one year related experience
- I-Car Gold Status or ability to obtain Gold Status within first year of employment
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
- Automotive certification or designation preferred
- Basic personal computer skills including Email and Microsoft Office
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of the automotive industry
- Experience with CCC preferred
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- An aptitude and interest in automotive repair
- Strong administrative, organizational and computer skills
- Effective time management skills
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable):
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITES
- Maintain I-Car Gold Status every year during employment after initial certification
- Prepares estimates for repair work according to dealership, insurance company, and industry standards
- Oversees delivery of repairs and manages customer expectations
- Ensures required documentation is complete and in compliance with industry regulations and standards
- Assigns work to technicians and ensures all work meets quality control standards
- Maintains excellent customer service focus and documents all customer interactions for each job
- Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored.
- Adhere to work schedule and maintain regular attendance.
- Performs Wallwork Inc. wide duties as requested by the designated supervisor.
- Upholds Wallwork Inc. ethical standards and demonstrate the behavioral and service expectations as defined in our policies and procedures.
