As a Procurement Manager your responsibilities will be:

  • Work closely with the Director of Procurement to align on top level procurement strategies.
  • Manage North America MRO Supplies and Facility Services portfolio, and may include capital related purchases by establishing procurement strategies across all CNG locations to leverage the entire enterprise to drive sustainable incremental value.
  • Develop standards and best practices to support purchases and expenditures.
  • Engage with local and regional teams across CNG businesses to understand business and regional needs, forecast and demand.
  • Manage a very small but developing team of buyers to execute procurement strategies and coach employees at varying skill levels to develop advance sourcing skills.
  • Develop and drive category savings initiatives aligned with business objectives.
  • Create & evaluate market facts and trends (market intelligence).
  • Provide a fact-based understanding of current supply base and intelligence on contracts terms.
  • Develop and execute multi-year unique commodity procurement strategies.
  • Identify and select suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms and conditions for related spends.
  • Design and manage the Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) package workflow as needed to support business objectives.
  • Lead negotiations with suppliers.
  • Manage supplier relationships (SRM) with key strategic suppliers and develop playbooks to define the working relationship. Drive delivery of best-in-class performance.
  • Engage in dispute resolution and conduct regular and disciplined client engagement for continuous improvement processes.
  • Deliver documented savings from bid processes, negotiations, and innovative savings opportunities to meet business requirements and procurement organization objectives.
  • Provide supply chain with pertinent contract information and periodic training on contract and agreement content and interpretation. Drive compliance through rapid and complete implementation.
  • Manage communications with suppliers and serve as key point of contact for CNG businesses on contractual matters.
  • Maintain suppliers and commodity strategies in the appropriate databases.


A strong Procurement Manager will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field and 6 years of strategic buying experience preferably in Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) Supplies and Facility Services category.
  • Proficient in use of personal computers and MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power-point). Advanced excel skills.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Experience in building procurement strategies and strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with and influence people at all levels and varied cultures within and outside of company.
  • Ability to balance short-term vs. long-term needs, company vs. supplier needs.
  • Detail oriented, demonstrated analytical capabilities.
  • Strong problem solving and strategic analysis skills. Able to conduct complex analysis such as Total Cost of Ownership, EVC, Net Present Value, Cost Modeling.
  • Ability to manage multiple project tasks and category portfolio to quickly initiate changes in the plan when appropriate.
  • Ability to translate implications from analysis into preliminary recommendations.
