Job Title:     Peer Mentor (BHT)

Reports To: Clinical Coordinator

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Position Summary:  The Peer Mentor (PM) supports and assists the Clinician and Clinical Coordinator in all aspects of resident services. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of Clinician and Clinical Coordinator duties including, but not limited to intake, orientation, resident file creation, and maintenance.
  • Facilitate Right Track Program curriculum.
  • Make copies, collates, staples, and files program materials as needed.
  • Provides individual counseling to include crisis management as required.
  • Facilitates coordination of care to include case review, therapeutic interventions, client progress in treatment and coordination of aftercare services.
  • Participates in clinical staff meetings, trainings and other activities as required.
  • Discuss issues regarding program requirements and/or conflicts with residents.
  • Assist residents in completing applications for government assistance, handling legal issues, and referrals to independent agencies.
  • Performs other duties, as required.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and 1-2 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • A working knowledge of addiction, recovery, and twelve step programs.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with internal and external audiences.
  • Must be in recovery from Alcohol and Drugs for equal to or greater than 6 months, required.
  • Must maintain high ethical standards and demonstrate sound judgment, problem solving skills, and strong organizational skills.
  • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Computer/Microsoft Office experience.

  • While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to sit and speak or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, reach hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
