Special Requirements / Qualification Profile:

Qualification:

· HS diploma or equivalent

· 2 years technical training in related field

· 10 years of experience in Mold Making and / or Tool & Die Operations

· Supervisory experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry

Proficiency:

· Personnel management

· Extensive knowledge in mold design

· Extensive knowledge in all tool room operations including grinder, mill, lathe, sinker EDM, wire EDM, CNC milling, tig welding, etc

· Ability to understand diagrams, mold drawings, and mold assembly blueprints and specifications

· General equipment performance management (OEE)

· Knowledge in IATF Audit processes, ISO 14000, VDA 6.3,

· Proficient in Microsoft Office – email, Excel, Word as well as database management computer skills

· Knowledge and ability to train tool room operations and equipment to staff

· Ability to troubleshoot new or existing tools for cycle time improvement and quality improvement as well as tooling function

· Project management skillset

· Standardized Work Knowledge.

· Core Tools basic level in AMEF, Control Plan, Flowchart, Paretos, 8 D´s.

· Industrial Safety Rules and 5 "S"

Objective of the Position:


To provide overall assistance and support to manufacturing/Injection Molding Operations. The primary responsibility of the position is to manage the activities of the tool shop, mold maintenance, and tool makers/staff. This involves the scheduling of required personnel, mold maintenance, and being able to communicate results to management.

Major Responsibilities:

· Lead and create a team environment in order to exceed our customer expectations

· Conduct shift changeover meeting to discuss any tooling issues, downtime, special assignments, or carry-over work that must be finished

· Ensure efficient operations of the tool shop

· Provide direct supervision to team members, assigning tasks, and checking work at different intervals to ensure quality

· Responsible for team actions including hiring, performance evaluations and working with HR on disciplinary actions, where needed

· Manage tooling maintenance and spare parts for repair

· Oversee routine PM program and have PMs scheduled in advance

· Assist team embers with set-up and breakdowns of all injection molds using safe and proper techniques

· Keep downtime on injection molds at a minimum – must maintain production levels

· Maintain tool shop area to conform to 5s standards at all times

· Maintain a safe work environment

· Responsible for all repairs, modifications, or change-over of all molds within time standards

· Maintain proper supplies and tools for the toolmakers including the purchase of mold components, cutting tools, hand tools, grinding wheels, etc.

· Maintain all tooling activities with the scope of SMP tooling database

· Maintain proper records of all activities and complete the required reports for tooling personnel including attendance tracking

· Communicate with other departments on the progress of molds in the tool shop that are either scheduled for PM, engineering change or tool repair

· Notify the proper department when mold has been sent out for repair and the expected return date

· Maintain and enforce safety standards

· Maintain visual boards on a daily basis

Special Responsibilities:

The employee agrees to escalate, inform or request authorization verbally as a first and subsequent written action with his direct leader or with the corresponding Manager issues related to: Violations of the Code of Ethics or internal regulations of Work, Accidents - Incidents in the plant, overtime, payroll, and product quality.

· Authority to stop Defective Material / Product

· *** Multidisciplinary Team Analyzes failure and Process Quality personnel (Injection, Paint, Assembly) of Disposal and Release of Material / Non-Conforming Product.

· Authority to stop processes

· *** Maintenance, Mold and Process Personnel (AWETAS, SMED) has the Authority to Stop and Release production processes but No Authority to stop and release product; This faculty is assigned only to the Quality Personnel.
