OSP Construction Crew

Reliance Connects is a local telephone and internet company headquartered in Estacada, Oregon with affiliated exchanges in Oregon, Nevada and Arizona.

Looking for an individual who has telephone construction experience and would have a strong desire to learn and have the aptitude and drive to be part of our OSP construction team.

Position will be doing manual labor associated with burying fiberoptic cable facilities in Estacada, Oregon.

Summary:

The Construction Line Crew team member duties will focus mainly on cable placement utilizing equipment specific to that task (trenchers, plows, and directional drills) and general construction as directed by Foreman/Supervisor. Valid Driver's License required, CDL a plus..

Essential Functions:

Laborers perform general construction work under direction of Foreman/Supervisor
Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies
Work hours are from 7am to 5:30pm rarely nights and weekends but occasional overtime
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic that can provide high productivity.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, etc.
Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Physical Requirements:

Hand dig with shovel, sharpshooter, etc.
Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
Repetitive motion with hand, wrist, feet, head, and shoulder
Work in congested or remote areas
Work while standing or sitting for several hours at a time
Must be able to work in small/sometimes confined areas
Must be able to work in variable heights/depths
Must be able to lift/carry up to 50+ pounds
Reach, bend and stoop while performing work
Maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement
Work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses and hardhat
Work in extreme weather conditions depending on geographical location (below freezing to over 100 degrees and in very windy conditions)
Education and/or Experience:

· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Ability to adhere to Local, Federal regulations and Company policies
· 1 years+ experience with outside plant construction preferred
· Skills with reading mapping, GIS, AutoCAD prints preferred
· Strong communication skills are essential as is a cooperative attitude toward co-workers, customers and contractors
· Ability to interact effectively with other team members
· Valid driver's license, with a satisfactory driving record
· Must have good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and organize effectively
· May have to work independently without supervision
· Exposure to dust, dirt, noise, insects,
· Work outdoors in all kinds of weather
· Work could be performed near power lines and electricity
· Work and travel in inclement weather
Qualified candidate will be able to work outside in extreme weather conditions and will be able to work around heavy equipment. Most work is preformed alongside State highways and country roads. Safety is a high priority to us! There will be the possibility of travel to other locations that the Company owns in Oregon. CDL license a plus!
