About the Position

The purpose of this position is to fabricate production products for customers and design engineers, test the products to verify that the products meet the intent of the design specifications.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Successfully execute three main areas of molding: transfer mold or injection mold encapsulation, small component level potting, and poured component molds
  • Follow manufacturing instructions to properly compose chemical mixtures and achieve conforming product.
  • Use vacuum chamber to de-air potting compounds.
  • Use ovens to bake parts and heat up compounds.
  • Assemble parts, encapsulation, varnishing, testing and marking. Prepare parts for delivery. Ensure that products meet mechanical and visual requirements of the specifications.
  • Document changes or discrepancies in the parts as to design, specification, and process as they are discovered. Communicate these findings with the engineer.
  • Complete assembly of production, prototype and first article modules could include winding, assembly, molding, stamping and testing.
  • Assist in the training of all new and existing assemblers on Inrcore manufacturing and test methods if applicable.
  • Assist the department manager in the upkeep of all lab tools and equipment and proper storage of materials.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: This position requires a High School Degree or equivalent education.

Experience: Must have 1-2 years’ experience with Compression Molding. Preferably experienced in mixing resins and understands the different epoxies used in manufacturing processes. 5 years’ experience in electronics assembly environment preferred. Mechanical inspection experience would be helpful.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: All positions require some basic experience with soldering equipment, hand tools, encapsulation equipment, marking equipment, wire terminating, winding equipment and measurement tools for mechanical inspection including calipers, micrometers and optical comparators. Some basic test knowledge using equipment such as LCR meters and digital multimeters is also required. Must be able to understand schematic drawings and have good manual dexterity and visual acuity. Must be able to work with a microscope or magnifying lens. Attention to detail is critical.
