Job Description:

The Undergraduate Admissions Counselor visits high schools and two-year colleges in order to recruit academically gifted students for the university, and provides counseling to students and parents.

Additionally, this position reports to the Assistant Director for Strategic Marketing & Communications assisting in the development and maintenance of recruitment materials. Areas of focus include campaign/communication flow planning, publication editing, website maintenance, and social media content/short-form video creation.

Job Duties:

The characteristics and responsibilities of the ideal Admission Counselor – Communications Team member include but are not limited to:

  • Participating in college fairs and admissions events throughout the assigned territory and on campus
  • Conducting large and small group presentations
  • Collaborating with the admissions team
  • Planning recruitment events
  • Communicating and establishing relationships with prospective students, parents, and counselors via available media
  • Preparing recruitment reports
  • Reviewing admission applications and recommending decisions
  • Other duties as assigned
Additional Information to Applicants:
  • Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but some night/weekend work may be required
