DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist, you will be providing a full range of case management services in the field of drug and alcohol treatment. Responsibilities include screening and assessing clients' needs to determine the level of care required based on placement guidelines, coordinating access to treatment services, developing, and implementing a comprehensive service plan to include case management follow-up. You will have the opportunity to monitor the treatment progress of clients, write reports, and advocate for the clients with other agencies or organizations to maximize the clients' benefits.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 1 day a week and reporting in office 4 days a week. There is a possibility of this being changed due to agency or business needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Drug and Alcohol Case Management Specialist Trainee; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Dependency, Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Nursing or a related field; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
  • A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 18 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; and one year direct service experience performing counseling or case management work in alcohol or other drug treatment setting; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Schuylkill, Sullivan, or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
