DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Our fiscal staff are responsible for performing a variety of tasks to assist with the day-to-day operations of Fayette County Children and Youth. This position requires strong skills in the areas of writing, negotiation, organization, data management, advocacy, and human relations. You will have the opportunity to attend trainings and work groups to become proficient in CAPS, as the agency moves forward to implement the fiscal components of the system. You will be collaborating with the fiscal department as well as program staff to facilitate a smooth transition. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing a working relationship with providers and agencies
  • Completing payroll
  • Inputting data and ensuring accuracy
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of TANF and IV-E policies and procedures
  • Developing a knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures related to each agency unit
  • Completing all requirements of the Department of Public Welfare to determine child's eligibility
  • Filing for child support and social security

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.
    • Telework may be scheduled up to eight (8) days per year and you must hold regular status as Fiscal Technician.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant or three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires possession of a current Pennsylvania driver's license, which is not under suspension.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Greene, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
