The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Senior Designer role working out of our Denver, CO, Austin, TX, or St. Paul, MN office, remote locations will also be considered, supporting renewable energy projects. The selected candidate will engage with Ulteig's civil, structural, and electrical design teams and our clients to provide innovative, forward thinking design solutions to facilitate the development, design, and construction of wind and solar renewable energy projects.

What You'll Do

  • May be assigned Civil Design Lead and/or Project Technical Lead, managing a team of designers and junior engineers, on utility scale renewable energy projects
  • Applies industry design standards on renewable projects and coaches others on the team
  • Utilize prior design experience to proactively address potential design issues
  • Champions quality and efficiency through the development of design and drafting standards, as well as the development of improved processes and workflows
  • Mentors other technicians, designers, and junior engineers.
  • Practices efficiency engineering as it pertains to design selection.
  • Demonstrates a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Effectively communicates and interacts with clients to ensure we are meeting their needs.
  • Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

What We Expect from You

  • Associate or technical degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 15-18+ years of progressive experience to a civil engineering technician and/or designer role, is required, with at least 8-10+ yrs. of experience in design of renewable energy projects
  • Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
  • Proficient at large scale site grading design, additions to existing civil designs, and earthwork calculations is required.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Project)
  • Excellent presentation and verbal/written communications skills
  • Must be analytical, self-motivated, and possess the ability to work in high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally+/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $103,000*
