DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Electronics Trade Instructor, you will maintain an inmate work crew for the purpose of instructing, coaching, and educating the inmate in the field of electronics. You will provide on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates in the electronics trade.

You will be instructing inmates in a variety of electronics, which include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, and installation of new electronic fixtures and equipment. You will also be responsible for maintaining a working knowledge and ability concerning electronic components of cell doors and sliders.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment (40-hour work week)
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $48,425.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
