You will investigate and settle vehicle accident claims over the phone and through written correspondence. This level of claims adjuster will handle 1st and 3rd party claims. You will investigate and determine complex coverage and liability and make the appropriate payments based on their decisions. This level of adjuster would handle minor injury claims and will be introduced to moderate injury claims. Reporting to the Claim Supervisor, you will handle non-attorney represented claims.

Position Compensation Range:

$55,000.00 - $90,000.00

Primary Accountabilities

You'll evaluate and investigate policy coverage, liability and damages promptly following a set of general claim and statutory guidelines. Assist internal and external customers with problems or questions regarding claims by phone or written correspondence. Establish initial reserves for all potential exposures and adjust throughout the claim. Investigate and evaluate claims using the lowest ultimate cost strategy. Establish appropriate management of assigned inventory following company guidelines. Conduct investigations, which can include obtaining necessary documents or forms from customers and conducting recorded statements. Ensure completion of appraisals and determine accident-related damages. Communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds and attorneys within approved payment authority. Review and process mail relating to assigned claims. Recognize recovery opportunities in regard to subrogation and salvage. Evaluate and settle bodily injury claims within designated authority. We are looking to fill multiple positions.

Preferred qualifications:

* Candidates with 2+ years of casualty claims adjusting, including bodily injury.

* Proficient PC and Windows skills.

* Effective customer service, verbal and written communication, critical thinking, time management, negotiation, organization and investigative skills.

* Ability to perform basic math calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and the calculation of averages and percentages.

* High School Diploma or equivalent. Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience. INS or other insurance related courses preferred.

  • In this primarily home-based role, you will spend 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from home.
